Homework Set:Continue to complete and improve your coursework - lettering & PPE project. Read what I have written to help you and act on it!!!!!
You must have your final design ready and drawn up ready to start on the first day of your examination.
THE ART ROOM IS STILL OPEN FOR YOU EVERY EVENING EXCEPT WEDNESDAYS UNTIL AT LEAST 5 PM.
You need to be doing the following:
Spend at least 1 hour this week on your preparation for the 2 day exam, you are now on week 8, you have only got 4 weeks left before the 2 day exam where you make a final piece.
Spend at least 1 hour this week on your prep.

Work on your mind map and continue to gather pictures and information that links to the starting point you have decided on.
Re-read the exam paper. Gather pictures / information that links to the Starting Point/s that you are interested in. You will be using some of this to create a mind map.
Complete your design ideas sheet - you should have at least 3 ideas. (If you are using photographs you should have at least 5 different ones.) Then you need to show how you have developed / improved your ideas.
Complete your mind map by adding more to it. Work on your design sheet. You should have at least 3 designs, these can be in the form of initial drawings and photographs. You need to explain your thinking process so it it clear how you have made your design decisions. Remember to link to the artists you are looking at.

Have a serious think about what you will do differently when you start your actual examination project (which begins after the Christmas break). what will you do differently? Write a list for me to check.
Your PPE exam is on Monday and Tuesday - spend this homework time making sure you are fully prepared for it. If you are stuck see me any evening except Wednesday.

Continue to work on your prep for your PPE - look on the enrichment tab to find information on your chosen artists.
Complete your copies of the artists work that links to your theme. Complete your artists analysis for checking – add your own opinions – gather more images and information.
Spend at least 1 hour on your prep - you need to have a good mind map and be collecting images that link with your chosen starting point.
Continue to work on your initial research for your PPE natural form projects - Spirals, Still Life or Light and Shade
I am starting to look through your folders. Ensure you have finished all the prep work for the issue based project and complete where you have not.
Continue to work on your coursework - the Natural form project and the Lettering project. I have written notes on your work to say what you can do to complete and/ or improve it.
Time is ticking away. After the Easter holiday you have only got 1 single lesson before the exam. Use the time wisely. Let's see your designs / final design for the actual 10 hours of the examination now!
You have only 3 full weeks before the Easter holidays and when you come back your Art examination is in the second week on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th April. Make sure you are ready for it. You should be on the way to knowing what you are going to be doing in the 10 hours of the exam. You should have at least two design ideas and some media test pieces done this week.
Continue to work on your prep for the exam. You can work in the art room on any evening and either myself or Miss Wilkes are available to offer you help and advice. The time you have left will go very quickly. You should be starting to use a range of media to test out your ideas for whatever you intend to do in the 10 hour exam.
As well as the work below you now need to make sure you have observational drawings and photographs of things that link to your ideas that you have developed from your chosen starting point.
GCSE Exam preparation -
Look over the list below and make sure all are completed. 1. Mind Map about the starting point you have been given. 2. Images printed out that inspire you that directly relate to your chosen starting point. 3. Artist Research - at least one artist - information about them - images of their work., 4. A copy of one of the Artists piece of work. 5. Your analysis of their work. Ensure you have images of work by other artists that link with your starting point - you need to making careful copies in appropriate media - ie pencil, paint, oil pastels.
Spend at least 1 hour on your prep - you need to have a good mind map and be collecting images that link with your chosen starting point.
Spend at least 1 hour on completing and/or improving your PPE and your coursework. If you have the exam paper you may of course start on the prep for it.
Continue to complete all prep work relating to your PPE.
Make sure you are completely ready for the start of the PPE exam on Monday. I will be in the Art room every evening this week (exept Friday) - if you need any help or advice - come and see me. If you need a board or any special equipment - I need to know. if you are not sure what you are doing come and see me.
I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU ON MONDAY MORNING This week you need to have designs for whatever you are going to be doing in the exam. If it is going to be a painting you need to have drawings of your idea. If it is a piece of 3D you need to have small card 3D versions and photographs of them. If you are stuck you need to see me. YOUR EXAM IS ON THE 12TH DECEMBER YOU MUST BE READY BY THEN.

Complete the individual tasks you have each been given.
Write the word ART in the font style of your choice. This needs to be neat and coloured well to go in your sketchbook.
Spend at least 30 minutes on your designs for your letter. your final design should be clearly and neatly labelled saying what materials will be used to make each part of it.
Draw the logo from a sweet wrapper - neatly and accurately - this will go in your sketchbook.
Write up in full how you have made your letter. What problems have you encountered and how have your overcome them? Type up neatly - print me out a copy and save a copy so you can improve it when it has been assessed.
Fully complete the 2 designs you have made for your 3D letter
Check and complete / improve all the homeworks you have been set in this last term.
Collect and bring in scrap materials for possible use on your letter
Spend at least 30 minutes on your sketchbook at home
Add colour and a background to your drawings of numbers
Draw the numbers 1 - 9 make every one a different style
Decide which letter or number you are going to make for your 3D letter. Bring examples.

Continue to work on your book, read the list of homeworks and make sure you have done them to the best of your ability. Assessment week beginning 14th March.
Look through your book and check that you have included all the homeworks that have been set. IMPROVE YOUR PAGES!
Work on your altered book for at least 30 minutes outside of lesson time.
Work on last weeks drawing add colour and a background.
Draw your name in a style that you think says something about you.
Spend at least half and hour to make an abstract drawing to illustrate one of the following sounds: a heart beating, a storm, a scream, a baby crying, popping bubble wrap.
Improve all homework that has been set - it is a part of your coursework and will go towards your final grade at GCSE.
Make a page of the letter you have been given in at least 9 different type styles. they need to be big enough for you to be able to see the detail of the letter.
Write a word that means something to you in graffiti style lettering
Make a research sheet on Roy Lichtenstein - remember it is lettering we are interested in! You need examples and information about the artists printed out that you can then work from in the lesson.
